2/16 – Osaka

We left Kyoto on Wednesday and made our way to Osaka. We arrived to our place later in the evening in order to have more time on Thursday. We slept in a little and headed to Dotonbori, a famous area known for its street food. Got some takoyaki and sushi. (Though I doubt you would consider conveyor belt sushi street food, it was still delicious.) Pictures!

Dotonbori
Eh… let’s let Google define: Takoyaki (たこ焼き or 蛸焼) is a ball-shaped Japanese snack made of a wheat flour-based batter and cooked in a special molded pan. (There’s octopus in it. 😊)
Sushi, along with my favorite 中トロ, a mildly fatty delicious tuna.

After that we ran around some more while stopping into some stores and window shopping. We decided we were tired and would head back to Kamoi early. We left at around 3:30pm and arrived back home at midnight. 🥺

For those of your who don’t read Japanese (myself included), you may have been wondering about the opening picture. That ひかり516 train at 16:48 was the shinkansen we were supposed to be on. But the line was temporarily suspended for a train inspection. For like more than 2 hours. So by the time we got to our home station it was a little late. Which means the buses were fewer and far between. At this point we had only taken the train to the station, and not from it. So, I didn’t actually know which of the 4 bus stops went to our place until the bus drove away as we were walking up. 😅 Next bus was 30 minutes later. We decided to walk the 15 minutes back to where we were staying. Which is why I haven’t shared anything in a few days. We were tired. And if the shinkansen can be late, then so can I. 🥱
